The cemetery is an important local and regional historical and genealogical treasure. The Broadlands Kempt Road Cemetery has tombstones dating back to 1874. Hong Kong War veterans are also buried there and their tombstones bear the inscription of the Hong Kong War Veterans Association. There are stones from the Victorian era with insignia that are unique in the region. The people buried there were the first inhabitants of the Kempt Road and the majority were Anglophones.
